Adventures of Clickin Walk 2012

It viagra online was a rainy, cold, windy, my bed was so comfy I didn’t want to get up, poured flour instead of sugar into my coffee, morning. Sounds like the beginning of a sad comedy…but this is normally how my days start when the rest of it is going to be amazing! I got all of my gear together and headed into Boston with Paul for this years Clickin Walk run by no other than Click Moms. The forecast the day before showed good weather in the morning and rain starting around 2PM. Thatttttt wasn’t exactly the case. (Raise your hand if the weatherman has lied to you before, too!)

It rained…

and rained…

and rained…

and rained. I think you get the point!

So why did we go if it was cold, windy and rainy? First, the walk was rain or shine and we’re far from quitters, no matter how comfy the bed is. If you all get up on Saturdays and Sundays at 5AM to drive to a wedding and cover it for 12 hours, we can go play in the rain for a bit! We really love supporting as many local events as we can that involves photography. Being shooters ourselves, it’s a lot of fun to go out and obviously be with other photographers but also use our knowledge to help! We brought extra gear for the attendees to use and though the rain deterred many lenses being exchanged, we got to talk about some of the new cameras and lenses that have come out!

Because of the steady drizzle, most cameras were put back in their bags and we just walked the streets of Beacon Hill. I started taking photos with my iPhone to record the event from under my tiny umbrella I was sharing with Paul. Soon I saw others doing the same thing so I ran a mini, on the go, course on iPhone photography and how to best utilize it! Here are some Instagram photos I took! (and no, for those of you “ughh!”-ing at the fact I was being a photographer with my iPhone, I do not plan on selling these or even calling them “professional”. When I needed to put the 5DMkIII away to shield it from the rain I started to use the next best thing I had on me…my phone!)

Or… some people took actual photos of people using their iPhones!

Overall we had a really great time with all of the ladies and children who came along for the ride! As I’m sure all of you understand, it’s always nice to be around other people that you can nerd out with you about apertures, resolution and sharpness of lenses! We’d like to thank Clickin Moms and the Boston leaders Erin and Carolyn for allowing us to come along and share in the experience! – Meg

These are some great shots from the day!! I was at the walk and I didn’t even realize who you guys were when you were there! I think we were all just hiding behind hoods and umbreallas to stay dry :) I was really excited about potentailly renting a lense for this event, but I am going to save your site and rent when I know it’s a weekend that the rain won’t scare the camera away!
