DSLR Sensor sizes - Video Tutorial

Here is another tutorial on DSLR Sensor sizes in Canon and Nikon cameras. If you ever wondered why you have multiply the focal length of your lenses by the crop factor of your sensor give this video a look. As always, leave us a comment if you like it or if you have a subject in mind you would like to see. 

Here is a quick recap.

Full Frame sensor is approximately the size of the 35mm film frame (24mm x 36mm).

Cannon full frame cameras: 1Ds Mk III, 1Ds Mk II, 5D Mk II and original 5D

Nikon full frame cameras: D3x, D3s, D3 and D700

 

APS-H size sensor is unique to Canon and has 1.3x crop factor. APS-H cameras: 1D Mk III, 1D Mk II

 

APS-C size sensor varies in size between 1.5x to 1.6x depending on manufacturer.

Canon APS-C sensor cameras: 7D, 50D, 40D.... Digital Rebel series cameras.

Nikon APS-C sensor cameras: D300, D200... D90, D80...

Great stuff. I really like that magical camera you guys have were you can change out the sensor so quickly :). I made a screen capture of the image that shows the same photo with the various crop factors overlaid on it. That will make explaining the difference is sensor size very easy. Something I'd like to see a video tutorial on is how you guys keep all of your lenses and DSLR sensors clean.
