DSLR Sensor sizes - Video Tutorial
Monday, January 11, 2010 at 7:45AM Here is another tutorial on DSLR Sensor sizes in Canon and Nikon cameras. If you ever wondered why you have multiply the focal length of your lenses by the crop factor of your sensor give this video a look. Here is a quick recap.
Full Frame sensor is approximately the size of the 35mm film frame (24mm x 36mm).
Cannon full frame cameras: 1Ds Mk III, 1Ds Mk II, 5D Mk II and original 5D
Nikon full frame cameras: D3x, D3s, D3 and D700
APS-H size sensor is unique to Canon and has 1.3x crop factor. APS-H cameras: 1D Mk III, 1D Mk II
APS-C size sensor varies in size between 1.5x to 1.6x depending on manufacturer.
Canon APS-C sensor cameras: 7D, 50D, 40D.... Digital Rebel series cameras.
Nikon APS-C sensor cameras: D300, D200... D90, D80...
