#LPTG52 Week 3 Theme

#LPTG52 Week 3 Theme

on Jan 16 in Photography by

We all have and do a lot of things that we ‘like’. I like to hike, I like my iPad, I like the Patriots (okay… maybe I love them…), I like camping, I like my rug under my coffee table, I like my high heels… but what do I ‘love’? We want everyone to get to the core of this and find something that they like more than everything else and hold close to their heart. What is the one thing you would most likely save if your house was on fire (considering your family, including all animals, were safe). If you could only keep 1 thing (again considering you could keep your family and pets) what would you want to save?

From today until January 22, 2012, please post one photo of an item you love to our 52 Week Photo Group.

This is a tough theme. Thank you for adding the fire – that helps!

  • I’m afraid people won’t come and read the full explanation of this weeks theme. It will be a tough one for me to decide on that one item that I would take with me besides my family…. do you take the one item that holds the documents or do you take the bag holding the camera?

Guilty. I read it but have been concentrating so much on theme titles, I forgot about the description. Ah well. Still a great exercise.

I have in fact been in this position several times. We evacuated during our 2008 fire storms in Northern CA. The first thing that went in car was the computer that houses all the photos I have ever taken. The second time we evacuated its the only thing I took. Seeing as my camera is small I am a novice and it fits in my purse it goes with me everywhere. When I can afford it sometime soon and I buy the T3i it will be a harder choice at that point. I have copies of all important documents stores in locations other than my home so they are never an issue anymore. But if I owned the T3i and had to choose it over the computer it would be a very tough choice.

How do you post pictures for the theme

  • Kara says:

The original email said this week’s theme was “Your favorite thing.” That’s quite different, in my opinion, from “What is the one thing you would most likely save if your house was on fire (considering your family, including all animals, were safe).” My photo would have been quite different had I been thinking about what I would save from a fire. It would be nice if you could put a link to the descriptions in that email. Or, no descriptions at all. I like having the freedom to interpret the theme however I want. Sometimes it’s a challenge, but that’s what I like about it.

Hello again, these descriptions that I write are in no way supposed to feel as though I am changing your mind on what it is that you would like to post. I like to write out a description to help those who are struggling with the project or need some extra motivation for an idea. I hope that you feel confident and free to post whatever it is that you would like to. As I keep saying there are no rules to this project except that you post in a timely fashion and follow the theme (when I asked for you to post a photo of your front door and if you were to submit a photo of your foot I admit I’d be confused!). Some people have asked for suggestions so that is why I update weekly on here!
